About me

Hello, I’m Jess. I’m a BACP-registered Counsellor and Psychotherapist, working with adults (18+) to support them through psychological distress. My approach is grounded in scientifically validated, peer-reviewed research, and I have experience working within an NHS GP practice.

Many people come to me when they feel overwhelmed, stuck, or no longer like the person they once were. You might be struggling with hopelessness, constant overthinking, or low self-worth and not know where to begin – and that’s where I can help.

I have particular experience supporting people with relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, and those deep-dives into past experiences that can still affect you today.

My approach

Here’s how I can help:

We’ll start with a relaxed, informal session where you can talk openly about what’s on your mind. From there, we can arrange weekly sessions if that feels right for you. My aim is to help you feel less overwhelmed and begin making sense of the emotions you’re experiencing.

It’s okay if you’re not sure where to start or what to say. You can take things at your own pace. I’m engaged and responsive in our sessions - I won’t just sit back and nod, but will be right there with you in the conversation.

If it feels helpful, we can talk about what you believe about yourself, what might be getting in your way, and how your past has shaped you. Most of all, I’m here to listen with kindness and care - every part of you is welcome.

Fees and location

I see clients on Thursdays and Fridays at The Grove Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice in Ilkley, West Yorkshire.

The Practice has two locations - I work from the one above the Mint Velvet clothing shop, right next door to Bettys café.  Once inside, there are two flights of stairs leading up to the therapy rooms.

Sessions last 55 mins and cost £60.

My working hours are:

  • Thursday 9am to 5pm
  • Friday 8.30am to 2pm

I offer a free 15-minute video consultation to see if my approach suits your needs and if I’m equipped to support your challenges.
